My original plan for this drawing was for Sakura to have the Zabuza Cleaver slung over her shoulder via a shoulder strap. The overall relation btwn Sakura's head and the body was not to my liking, so I replaced the Sakura head with a Naruto head.
I originally drew this Naruto as wearing just a plain shirt and pants, so I added the chunnin flak jacket for a more interesting drawing. In the end, it seems that my drawing has taken on the appearance of Maito Gai with a Naruto head. The sword that my Naruto is holding is the weapon of the Black Swordsman from Berserk.
All comments are welcome, but if you have any Advanced Critiques for my drawing, please post them so that I can improve my drawing skills for my next Naruto fanart.
I am especially seeking Critiques about the shading quality, bodily proportions, clothing, and the hair of my Naruto.
It's a good start. Before I read your description, I was wondering why Naruto had such wide hips, but seeing as it was meant to be Sakura....
The proportions are good, just consider not making everything look so stiff. Start sketching people and objects around you. Get some practice in. Maybe copy someone else's style (or a few people's styles), until you've settled down with your own. That's how I did it. Maybe read a few of those "Learn to Draw" books. They give some good tips, too.
I love Naruto. Keep drawing!
